	AMAYA Amaya was featured dancer in the German extravaganzas "Salome" and "Zorba" and even Circus Conelli in Zurich, Switzerland.  She has won numerous awards.  Amaya was born in Texas, now residing in New Mexico and has traveled extensively throughout nineteen different countries teaching and performing.  Her dance is filled with passion and fire, tempered with elegance and flashes of fun.   This fusion expresses the heart of Andalusia with the Spirit of Arabic.  Her dance transcends time and place. She will be presenting an elegant certificate of completion available to all seminar participants that complete full day of Amaya's workshop or full weekend of studies.  Please bring fan/skirt for the afternoon and we will be learning an exciting drum solo in the morning. 	Afritah			Afritah, orginally from Texas has been living in Germany about 20years.  She has performed and taught workshops throughout Europe, the United States(including Rakkasah),, New Zealand and North Africa and has performed in numerous clubs and restaurants and theatres. Her clear method of breakdown and explanation and use of layered concepts make her workshop a challenge to all levels and an inspiring experience without making them impossible for the new dancer.
	Viviane from Brazil/Texas is a passionate multi award winning professional dancer and accomplished instructor.  She dedicates her life to pursue the traditional Egyptian belly dance style or "Raks Sharq", while incorporating Brazilian flavor, without distancing herself from the dance origins.  Her recent highlights are IBDC competition fusion champion, workshop and show in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Belly Dancer of the Universe Fusion Champion, Belly Dancer of the Universe Finalist- Egyptian Category, Belly dancer of the Universe congeniality award, Belly Dance O Rama DVD produced by IAMED, workshop in Santa Catarina Brazil. Viviane is featured on the Christiane Northrup Book: "Belly Dance".  She was a workshop instructor and World Belly Dance competition judge in Seoul, Korea.  Viviane will be teaching a sassy new choreography and combos.  The class will start with a great warm up followed by  an all new Brazilian shimmy drill.  Then Viviane will be teaching a sassy, modern Egyptian choregraphy with focus on posture and poses to an Egyptian song with all new classic combos . Bring veil.

			KAREN BARBEE ADKISSON - San Antonio, Texas.. (left)  Karen has been dancing for 30 years.  Yes, she started as a child.   She trained in Cairo, Egypt, with some of the most accomplished dancers in the world and has participated in major symposiums.  She has taught and performed in workshops, clubs, restaurants in  cities all over the U.S. She also taught in the Caribbean and Brazil and performed in an international music video with Arab singer Ziad Ansari.  The video became a hit in the Middle East.  She taught at Shimmy At Sea 2008 on board the Carnival Conquest. She and her troupe, Karen's Karavan will be dancing at Shimmy.   MIABELLA taught two years at Shimmy by the Sea.  She will be performing solo and with her dance troupe.   Miabella from Dallas Texas area has taught many workshops.  She is known for her floor dancing and veil.. LOUISA from the Dallas/Fort Worth area taught an exciting Zar at Shimmy by the Sea several years ago.  We look forward to having her back at Shimmy 2009.  She likes to dance early in the show so don't miss her. 		SHIREEM - Corpus Christi, Texas. Shireem, sponsor of Shimmy By The Sea and Shimmy At Sea Belly Dance Cruise, has been teaching and performing since 1976. She and her daughter, Susan, direct the Mystic Dancers, Lotus Dancers and Pacific Islanders Polynesian show. This dance/drum group performed in China for the Euro/American festival in 2006. 2009 Shimmy by the Sea Vendors include:   Babylon Breeze, Taryn Kennard Tribal, Mehara with Audrenas, Magical Fashions, Tatika's Treasures, Jeannette Cunningham, Asheba's Phoenix Designs, D'Anne Originals and Jeannie's silk veils  and others to be announced.       JEANETTE CUNNINGHAM  (below) from Austin Texas has taught, vended, performed solo and group  or  was the MC at Shimmy for several years.  "Dance hard and live easy"    Don't miss her performance at the 25th Shimmy.   SUSAN- SHEENA (left) has taught several classes at Shimmy in both Hawaiian and Tahitian.  She has performed or taught workshops in several cities including China with the Pacific Islanders.                  Didn't get your Flyer in the mail?
