The Lexington Aircraft Carrier Museum (one block)  is nearby and open for tours for a small admission. Take a Water Taxi (operated by the Regional Transportation Authority) across the Ship Channel and you are within walking distance to The Art Museum of South Texas, The Convention Center, Museum of Science, Chaparral Street (night clubs, restaurants, shops) and the Corpus Christi Marina which contains the T-heads. That's where you'll find shrimp boats, powered and sail boats, the yacht club, and water craft and bicycle rentals along the sea-wall.
